Full-Time Teacher for Children with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties

Are you a dedicated and passionate teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)?
Our client school in Sutton Borough is seeking a skilled and compassionate teacher to work with small groups of students across Key Stages 2 to 4, delivering a curriculum tailored to meet their individual needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (non-negotiable).
Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to suit children with complex learning needs.
Provide a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Implement EHCP targets and differentiate lessons accordingly.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to ensure the best support for each child.
Carry out handover and planning for the remainder of the current term.
Requirements:
✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (essential).
✔️ A degree in Education or a relevant teaching qualification.
✔️ Experience working with children with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) (highly desirable but not essential).
✔️ A strong understanding of differentiation, communication strategies (such as Makaton, PECS), and sensory-based learning approaches.
✔️ Passion, patience, and commitment to working with children with special educational needs.
✔️ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
