An interesting opportunity has become available for a M & E Project Manager (Building Services Coordinator) with an electrical bias, to join a leading build main contractor, where you will provide building services support on a key construction project based just North of Newcastle upon Tyne.
As a business, they deal with a broad portfolio of large and interesting new build projects across the following sectors: education, industrial, and a range of public sector projects.
The role will be site-based where you will work closely with the delivery team and have key responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of the building services packages associated with the project. The role will have support from the regional building services and also report to the project lead.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the day-to-day coordination of building services subcontractors specific to your projects, including technical submissions, changes in design and specification, whilst handling any queries or issues in a proactive manner.
2. Review progress and chair meetings as required for works associated with both build and M&E sub-contractors.
3. Coordinate between all associated services including Utilities, Sprinklers, M&E installation, PV, Security, and CCTV packages.
4. Manage the process through to client handover, including commissioning and OM manual documentation.
Minimum Requirements
1. You will be a qualified building services engineer with an electrical bias operating at Project Engineer level or have worked within a similar M & E coordinator/manager role for a build contractor.
2. Have the capability and understanding to coordinate both mechanical and electrical disciplines within a commercial build project.
3. You should be a strong communicator comfortable operating at all levels.
4. Be a proactive personality, holding the ability to spot issues before they become a problem.
5. Strong IT skillset.
6. Hold a Full UK driving licence.
Although this role is designated as a fixed-term contract, the expectation is that it will progress onto other regional major projects that are secured for the end of 2025, which would tie in with project completion and handover.
If you would like to be considered for this vacancy, please send an up-to-date CV detailing your career history to date and I will be in touch to discuss the opportunity further.
