About The Role About the Role: Morrisons is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at our meat manufacturing site. This role will focus on ensuring the smooth operation of the site's facilities, carrying out essential maintenance tasks to support the overall efficiency of the plant. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance activities related to your primary skill set, helping to ensure that facilities and equipment are kept in excellent condition. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician with a strong background in a single trade (e.g., electrical or mechanical) looking to contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform planned and reactive maintenance work on the site’s facilities, focusing on your specific trade expertise (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing). Diagnose and repair faults in the facility’s systems and equipment to minimise downtime. Assist with the maintenance of key infrastructure systems, such as boilers, lighting, and plumbing. Ensure that all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment. Keep accurate maintenance records and ensure that repairs and servicing are conducted in line with company procedures. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth site operations and coordinate maintenance activities. About You As well as the ability to work at pace, we're also looking for someone who has: Proven experience in a maintenance technician role, ideally within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Recognised qualification in a specific trade (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing). Strong practical knowledge of facilities maintenance in your area of expertise. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. A strong commitment to maintaining health and safety standards. Flexibility to work shifts and respond to call-outs as required.
