Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer
Location: North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, or Cumbria
A Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer is required to join a Building Design Consultancy in North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, or Cumbria. The company is one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England, offering a broad range of services in Building Surveying, Civil & Structural, Highways, and Drainage Engineering, and more.

Role:
* Work as a member of the Building Services Team to deliver a variety of projects from industrial buildings to new build homes, schools, and refurbishments
* Produce Mechanical Building Services design calculations using a range of techniques including industry standard software such as Hevacomp and IES
* Produce feasibility reports, condition surveys, design specifications, and drawings suitable for all RIBA work stages
* Undertake detailed surveys on electrical building services to advise on their suitability for continued use
* Contract administration and project management
* Oversee and supervise the installation of building services systems, undertake commissioning management, and specify maintenance and operating procedures
* Carry out project design and complete H&S risk assessments to meet current CDM regulation requirements
Requirements:
* Degree or HNC in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering
* Ideally working towards MCIBSE
* Good working knowledge of mechanical services
* Experience with mechanical surveys and condition survey reports
* Able to produce plans, sections, detailed drawings, specifications, schedules of works, and other documents to high standards
* Experienced and confident in the preparation of decarbonisation/sustainability reports
* Experienced in supervising and monitoring mechanical installation work on site
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD, NBS software, and Revit
* Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
* A full UK driving license
