CK Group are recruiting for a Mechanical ProjectEngineer to join a specialist chemicals manufacturing company attheir site based near Chorley on a full time, permanentbasis.

Our client is awell-established, award-winning specialist polymer and resinmanufacturer. They now have a vacancy for an experience MechanicalEngineer to join their team. Reporting to the Chemical ProcessSafety Manager, in this role you will plan and implement mechanicalprojects, as well as generate proposals and establish projectgoals. The company offers a salary in the range of 40,000- 50,000padepending on experience, as well as 25 days' holiday, pension andhealthcare.
Location:
Thisrole is based at the company's site near Chorley and is easilycommutable from surrounding areas such as Preston, Manchester,Liverpool, Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan,etc.
Project MechanicalEngineer Role:
Your main dutieswill be to:
* Manage all phases ofprojects, including engineering design, procurement, planning,installation, evaluation.
* Create designs tosolve specific issues, including creating equipmentspecifications.
* Develop a plan for each projectthat includes its requirements, cost andtimings.
* Identify, plan and manage requiredresources, which may include externalcontractors.
* Identify and manage potentialrisks in the project, and also identify risk assessmentrequirements and participate in these asneeded.
* Analyse tasks concerning the projectschedule.
* Contribute to the verification andsigning off of designs.
* Actively participate incontinuous improvement activities.
* Createand/or update engineering drawings as required, such asisometrics.
YourBackground:
The ideal candidatefor this role will have the following skills andexperience:
* Proven industry experiencein a mechanical project management role within the chemicalmanufacturing sector - essential.
* Degreequalified (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline,such as mechanical engineering -essential.
* Technically proficient in mechanicaldesign and maintenance of equipment such as agitators, reactors andpumps - essential.
* Good working knowledgeagitated semi-batch reactors -essential.
* Familiar with management systemssuch as Permit-to-Work, Management of Change & Lockout Tagout -essential.
* Ideally, experience of working witha plant maintenance system.
* Experience on aCOMAH site would be advantageous.
