Job Description
Taylor Hopkinson is working with a well-known OEM to appoint a Project Proposal Manager to work as part of their offshore wind team. This role involves aligning sales strategies and providing project management proposals for new opportunities.
This position will support the sales process by coordinating with internal stakeholders and clients to plan and deliver accurate and cost-effective results.
The job is full-time and based in either London or Hamburg.
Key Responsibilities:
* Owns the project management proposal during the sales phase.
* Acts as the customer interface for project management proposals.
* Coordinates with internal departments, including sales, solutions teams, and project delivery teams, as part of the sales process.
* Ensures correct identification, assessment, and quantification of potential R&O related to the scope.
* Facilitates the handover to the project execution team.
* Develops sound, cost-effective strategies for sales projects, presenting them to clients as required.
* Collaborates with relevant solutions teams and purchasing to prepare comprehensive proposals for sales projects, including execution strategy, transportation from factory to site, and route assessment.
* Leads input to proposals on installation, testing, and commissioning, interface management, balance of plant, and tower solutions.
* Manages contract reviews, approvals, and tender documentation preparation for the bid project schedule.
* Monitors competitiveness for project proposal scope.
* Conducts cost analyses and sets benchmarks for improvement.
* Develops risk management procedures to mitigate losses due to market changes.
* Provides feedback to the company's solutions department on cost-saving initiatives.
* Supports purchasing in developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
* Evaluates contracts and technical terms, ensuring they are favourable and fit for purpose, with support from the legal department.
* Reviews supplier technical concepts upon completion of contracts.
* Supports procurement on vessels, cranes, installation, and logistics, ensuring accuracy of tender documentation and tenders.
* Maintains and updates knowledge of logistics and crane equipment available for the offshore industry in each sales country.
* Liaises with technical teams to develop logistics and installation solutions that optimise budgets on projects.
* Leads contract negotiation, closure, and handover of project management to the delivery team.
* Delivers on KPIs related to adherence of sales project requirements, timely budgets, and R&O identification.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
* Significant experience in project or proposal management, preferably with an international OEM.
* Experience in offshore wind farm project sales, transport, cranes, or management is essential.
* Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and Sharepoint.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and written.
* Flexible, self-motivated, and organised individual with a desire to share knowledge and experiences across the organisation.
