The Operations Manager will manage all aspects of the contracted work(s) and supervise the Works Managers and their respective teams in conjunction with the company’s policies and procedures whilst fulfilling the terms under your contract of employment and your roles and responsibilities of any other roles held within the company.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and populate boards (daily)
2. Creation of daily job packs and management of Works Managers on call staff and works
3. Manage and populate the lookahead boards and daily productivity
4. Obtain midday progress reports and end of shift feedback from Works Managers or Supervisors
5. Taking care of your own health and safety, and others who might be affected by your actions
6. Day to day activities as per your contract of employment
7. Conduct weekly toolbox talks
8. Client liaison
9. Ensure vehicles inspections are carried out correctly and on time
10. Check and approve weekly timesheets ready to be submitted to payroll
11. Provide health and safety leadership to your team and promote behavioural safety improvements
12. Supervise Managers diaries and coordinate with the daily and lookahead boards
13. Attend weekly managers meetings providing details of issues, feedback and resolutions
14. Site visits prior to new works commencing
15. Communicating policies, procedures and business updates to colleagues
16. Managing vehicle and equipment defects and inspections
17. Chair weekly Managers meeting
18. Liaising with Managers in identifying risks and controls that may affect works and report back to the depot manager all issues and resolutions
19. Conduct disciplinary meetings, investigations liaising with HSE manager
20. Manage holiday requests and on call engineers as well as employee sickness
21. Liaise with Manager to agree scopes of work and work scheduling
22. Liaise with managers to ensure paperwork is completed
23. Uphold the core company values, inspire, and encourage the same throughout the team
24. Ensure all close calls, accidents and incidents reporting/investigations are carried out as per the company’s procedures (in conjunction with the HSE Manager)
25. Ensure sufficient and competent resources are in place as identified by managers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of clients works
