We are looking to appoint a Band 6 District Nurse into our friendly and supportive team. You must have effective communication and negotiation skills. As an advocate for our patients, you need to inspire people at all levels. This post requires an understanding of the expanding role of community nursing and a commitment to take it forward. You will need a sound understanding of the current primary care agenda, with excellent communication skills and effective leadership and decision-making skills. You should be innovative and able to work autonomously while promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for team members and students. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills in supporting the team leader.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for the ongoing assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care.
The post holder will carry out all relevant forms of care and will take responsibility for caseload holders in their absence, including the management of the work area and clinical caseload, as well as supervision and development of staff.

Qualifications and Education
* First level Registered Nurse
* Nurse Prescriber
* Degree in District Nursing or equivalent (Specialist practitioner qualification in District Nursing)
* Evidence of continual professional development
* Must hold a Specialist Community Practitioner - District Nursing qualification and/or be registered as a
Knowledge and Training
* Post registration experience to include: Evidence of mentoring, project working, specialist training, and management and development of others
* Good background knowledge of issues within the primary care area
* Willing to undertake Band 6 competencies
* Knowledge of major NHS issues
* Demonstrate knowledge of research-based practice

* Experience of working in primary care and leading a community nursing team
