Role title: CAD (Computer Aided Design) Library Manager Specialist\n\nLocation: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.\n\nPackage: £37,860 - £50,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications & level of experience)\n\nWorking pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.\n\nClosing date: 3rd March 2025\n\nLet us introduce the role\n\nAWE is currently recruiting for a CAD (Computer Aided Design) Library Manager to maintain a high-quality, efficient, and standardised library of models and parts to support the PLM (Product Life-cycle Management) design and engineering needs of current and future programme activities.\n\nWorking within the Warhead Applied Engineering team, the library manager will play a crucial role in creating, managing, and maintaining the AWE PLM CAD libraries to support the UK CASD (Continuous At Sea Deterrence).\n\nThis role is ideally suited to an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 3D CAD skills looking to further their career.\n\nWho are we looking for?
\n\nWe are looking for someone with experience of:\n\nProduct Lifecycle Management (PLM)\nApplication and knowledge of Material selection\nProven experience in a Design Office environment\nProficient user of MS Excel\nAn ability to work with a range of stakeholders (technical & non-technical) \n\nWe do need you to have the following: \n\nA degree, HNC/HND or an equivalent vocational qualification, in an engineering discipline supported by considerable practical experience\nExperience in using Computer Aided Design systems\nExperience and knowledge in Mechanical Engineering Design to produce fully defined engineering 3D models, drawings and associated specifications\nExperience using PLM and CAD systems. Siemens Teamcenter and NX particularly desirable although further training will be provided if needed\nExperience, knowledge and application of British, ISO and other industry standards\nPractical experience of machine tools and manufacturing processes \n\nWhilst not to be considered a check list, responsibilities of the role will include:\n\nCreating, updating, and maintaining a comprehensive CAD library of parts, symbols, and models\nConducting regular audits of the CAD library to ensure accuracy and completeness\nImplementing and enforcing quality control measures to maintain high standards\nSupporting CAD standards and best practices across the organisation\nProviding support to users of the CAD library\nManaging the implementation of updates within the library, following PLM procedures\nMaintenance of design history\nCollaborating with Senior Engineers in scoping, planning, and estimating future activities\nApplying the practical use of engineering methods, tools, and processes\nTechnical leadership/mentoring of junior staff, apprentices & graduates\nMaintaining and promote high standards in ESH (Environmental, safety & health), security and quality \n\nWe encourage you to apply promptly to avoid disappointment if applications are high and the role therefore closes. \n\nSome reasons we think you'll love it here: \n\nAWE has wide range of benefits to suit you.
