The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) has a considerable and varied estate, diverse contracting relationships and an obligation to drive value for money - including improved quality - from the money it spends. The post holder will be instrumental in contributing to this aim.
Crucial to that work will be:
· Understanding the Trust’s vision and Clinical Strategy and its role in providing healthcare within the community including being aware of the wider issues relating to the NHS
· Understanding the requirement for an Estates Strategy and its role in contributing to the efficient running of the Trust’s estate
· Understanding the requirements of the NHS Estate Code
The post holder will support the Director of Estates & Facilities in their role as Trust Representative ensuring best possible value for money via the PFI and wider commercial contracts.
Working with the Director of Estates & Facilities, the post holder will provide expert PFI, estates and facilities management advice.
The post holder will operate in a large and complex PFI and retained estate environment, the scope of which is outlined below:
· To be a source of Trust expertise and knowledge in relation to the PFI project documentation for all sites
· To liaise with the Trust’s other PFI partners (CPFT and NHS PS)
· To be the primary source of expertise in relation to the key contract areas of the Payment Mechanism
· To ensure effective arrangements are in place with the PFI Project Co. are being adhered to.
· Beresponsible for the development of systems and processes to underpin robust contract management and reporting.
· To be a source of expertise for other property related matters.
· To advise on any property leasing matters affecting the site / buildings and maintain a list .
· To liaise with the Trust’s third-party advisors on matters which may relate to legal, valuation and rating matters.
· Attend monthly performance meetings as well as any other meetings as required.
· Provide a timely response and comments on the reporting.
Contribute to the achievement of the Trust’s corporate objectives.
In respect of the Trusts retained estate, the role will contribute to the delivery of a cost efficient and effective in-house Estates Services.
