We are a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex and large-scale construction projects across the UK. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical HVAC Project Manager to join our team on a £45M data centre project in Newquay, Cornwall.
The Role:
As the Mechanical HVAC Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all mechanical and HVAC installations on this large data centre project. Reporting to the project director, you will ensure the delivery of all mechanical aspects is on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the mechanical/HVAC work package on a £45M data centre project
Oversee design coordination, procurement, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems
Collaborate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and the wider project team to deliver an integrated approach
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements
Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and quality controls
Manage mechanical subcontractors and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets
Deliver on sustainability goals and energy efficiency standards in line with project requirements
Resolve any technical issues that may arise during the construction phaseRequirements:
Proven experience as a Project Manager on large mechanical or HVAC projects, ideally with experience in data centres or high-tech buildings
Qualified in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC (CIBSE, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
Knowledge of data centre infrastructure and critical M&E systems is highly desirable
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (HVAC, BREEAM, etc.)
Full driving licence and willingness to travel to future projects across the South WestWhat We Offer:
