Senior Pharmacy Assistant for Homecare & Procurement

As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant within our Homecare Service, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients in their homes. This critical position demands a candidate with extensive experience in pharmacy operations, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong commitment to patient safety.
Main duties of the job
* To raise orders against Homecare prescriptions and ensure they reach the Homecare Provider in time for the first delivery.
* To process homecare prescriptions/services and invoices through the EMIS pharmacy homecare management system in an accurate and timely manner.
* Monitor and maintain the pharmacy database in relation to Homecare services.
* To assist the Senior Pharmacy Technician for Homecare in the smooth running of the Pharmacy Homecare Service.
Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
* NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services with relevant underpinning knowledge (including unit 2.6)
* or eligible to work as pharmacy assistant under grandparent clause (RSPGB)
* or on the job training, and experience to equivalent of NVQ level 3 in dispensing practice
* 4 passes at GCSE Grade C (or above) or CSE Grade 1 or GCE 'O' level (dual science preferred) Other level 2 or 3 NVQ in relevant areas of practice Dispensing certification eg NPA, Boots etc
EXPERIENCE
* Ability to work under own initiative and with supervision
* Able to meet deadlines whilst paying attention to detail
* Satisfactory employment history
* Previous pharmacy or stores experience
* Ability to cope with occasional distressing circumstances e.g. when dealing with seriously ill patients
