The Senior Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial transactions and records of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
· Manage and maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients, including day-to-day bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and ledger management.
· Prepare and review financial statements
·Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
·Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
·Monitor and manage cash flow for clients, providing regular reports and insights to support their financial decision-making
· Serve as the primary point of contact for allocated clients, addressing their bookkeeping queries and providing financial insights as needed.
·Conduct regular reviews of client accounts
·Provide guidance and mentorship to junior bookkeepers, helping them develop their skills and improve their performance.
·Review the work of junior staff, providing constructive feedback
·Assist in training and developing the bookkeeping team
· Ensure that all bookkeeping practices comply with relevant legal requirements and industry standards.
·Conduct regular audits of client accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
· Prepare detailed financial reports and statements for clients, providing clear analysis and insights into their financial performance.
· Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting, helping them to plan and manage their finances effectively.
· Utilise bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to manage client accounts efficiently.
Qualifications and Experience:
·A relevant bookkeeping (level 4 min) or accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA).
.Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, in a multi-client managing role.
·Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, including VAT, payroll, and financial reporting.
