Live-in Butler London/Hampshire, Negotiable Salary EHS 7805 Our UHNW client, based in Central London and who also has a country residence in Hampshire, is seeking a highly professional, traditional Butler to join their team. You will be responsible for providing exceptional personalised service to the principal and their family across multiple locations. The role is Live-in with accommodation provided, and will be for 4 days a week, Thursdays through to Sundays. The right candidate must be hands-on, flexible, and adaptable in nature. Key duties Work closely with the Housekeepers at each residence to maintain the highest standard of presentation across all reception rooms, kitchen and dining areas, bedrooms and bathrooms, maintaining a meticulous eye for detail. Take special care in the upkeep of antique silverware, nickel, and brass fixtures ensuring they are polished and in pristine condition. Serving and accommodating guests ensuring their needs are met and surpassed, displaying a warm, attentive, positive, and approachable manner, with attention to detail, finesse, and grace. Setting tables for breakfast, lunch, and dinner focusing on elegance and refined detail. Serving food from the Chef’s kitchen with precision and poise ensuring excellent presentation and timing. Fully securing the house at night following established security protocols to ensure the safety and security of the family and property. Granting access to the estate and house for contractors, deliveries, and guests following security protocols. Work closely with the team to identify and resolve minor maintenance issues, assisting wherever possible to ensure smooth household operations. Address unforeseen issues with calmness, composure, and resourcefulness, offering solutions and support as needed. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the garden and grounds team to ensure a seamless experience for the family and a supply of fresh produce to the house. Collaborate closely with the Chef, understanding the flow of service and anticipating needs to create a well-coordinated household environment. Ability to maintain absolute discretion and respect for the family’s privacy, safeguarding confidential information at all times. Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, for coordinating with colleagues and external service providers. Ability to collaborate with other staff, skilled in teamwork, particularly in working harmoniously with the Housekeepers, Chefs, and garden team. This role requires standing, moving, and lifting throughout the day and candidates should have the stamina levels to meet the demands of the role. Skills and experience A keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining a high standard. Experience in private households, luxury hospitality, or a fine dining service environment preferred. Familiar with formal table setting, fine dining service and wine etiquette with the confidence to serve guests with poise and professionalism. Experience handling delicate, fine household items including antique service ware, glassware, and tableware. Skills in maintaining prestigious fabrics, soft furnishings, antique furniture pieces, sculptures, and architectural antiques preferred. Knowledge of silverware and other soft metal care and maintenance. Excellent communication skills with a polite, respectful, and discreet approach. Capacity to manage time efficiently, prioritise tasks, and maintain a well-ordered, presentable household. Understanding of basic security protocols, with the ability to follow procedures. Days : 4 days per week Hours : 11.00am-11.00pm but hours will vary depending on the requirements of the principal Salary : Negotiable depending on experience
