Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager Department/Section: Strabane Report to: Warehouse Manager Main Purpose of Job: Assist with managing all warehouse department activities to ensure operational improvements and efficiencies are maintained on a day-to-day basis. Key Tasks: Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in data exchanged with customer and production team. Assist warehouse manager with all operating procedures and delivery processes to ensure goods are received, put away, picked, and packed according to procedure and to required standards. Assist with the development in the use of Orderwise for continuous improvement in storage and retrieval of goods. Produce reports and statistics to monitor performance and achievement of targets. Support with organising team schedules, handling staff issues and authorising annual leave. Managing various department specific initiatives, ensuring that these are completed within scope. Help to implement root-cause analysis to improve processes at source. Adhere to Health & Safety regulations & housekeeping compliance (5 S) in warehousing, material & manual handling at all times in accordance with company policy and government legislation. Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits. Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value. Excellent organizational and planning skills with demonstrable experience of managing multiple tasks Able to perform calmly under pressure with conflicting demands; must be able to prioritise conflicting tasks to achieve tight deadlines Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to work with people at all levels in the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication Ensure good working relationships are maintained with colleagues. Any other reasonable duties requested. Person Specification The successful candidate for this new role will be able to demonstrate that they can meet the following essential requirements. An ability to meet the desirable requirements will also be advantageous Essential: 3 years experience in a management position, preferably in manufacturing, retail or fashion. Hands on approach and confident in managing a large team in a busy environment. At least 2 years experience of staff management. Proven track record of managing a team during a period of expansion & continual growth. History of managing Health & Safety in the workplace with particular experience of good practices. Ability to create costing spreadsheet involving multiple excel formulas Computer Literate with excellent working knowledge of office software applications. Self-starter who can manage their own time and seek and executes activities that add value to their function Well organised, methodical with a keen eye for detail - Confident and able to deal with senior management effectively Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and to be deadline driven. Have a can do attitude and friendly outlook. Engaging with a style that engenders contributions from others Clear communication with clients and candidates both verbally and in written format Desirable: Working knowledge of ISO 45001 Working knowledge ISO9001 quality management system.
