An opportunity has arisen for an experienced administration officer to join our administration team working within Newcastle Treatment and Recovery (NTaR) in Plummer Court, Newcastle.
It is a very exciting time to join the addictions service, following recent investment to implement the recommendations from the Dame Carol Black Independent Review of Drug Services. Working alongside its partners (Humankind and Changing Lives), the service covers all drug and alcohol services and is an ageless service.

Under the supervision of an administration team lead and working alongside administration colleagues, the post holder will provide a proactive administration service to the clinical team.
Main Duties of the Job
* Accurately inputting data into the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System and our electronic patient record system Rio
* Responding to queries in relation to data
* Producing reports from the data inputted
The ideal candidate should:
* Have experience of working with Microsoft Outlook packages
* Have experience of data input and producing reports
* Have organisational and planning skills
* Have minute taking skills
* Have customer care skills
* Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A good working knowledge of office procedures
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to participate in all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.
You should currently hold the required level of qualifications, as outlined in the essential criteria of the personal specification within the job description. If you do not meet this criteria you may not be shortlisted.
Working as part of the administration team, the post holder will also carry out tasks including typing of clinical letters, generating prescriptions, minute taking at meetings, and general administration duties. The post holder may be required to cover reception on occasions.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experienced in using Microsoft Packages and patient information systems (e.g. RiO)
* Recent (2 years) secretarial or clerical experience
* Evidence of experience and understanding of working in an area with confidential and sensitive material
* Dealing with high volume calls
Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
* Evidence of independent working
* Processing Petty Cash ideally within an NHS organisation
Qualifications
* General level of education including a pass in Maths and English
* Word-processing skills at Level 3 (OCR/RSA Level 3 or equivalent qualification and/or demonstrable relevant experience) e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent)
