We are looking for a Team leader to manage both, The St Johns Hall Day service in Penzance alongside the Parkview Day service in Helston. This is an exciting opportunity to welcome a motivated and compassionate individual to join our established and dedicated team in supporting Adults with learning disabilities to access a valuable day service on offer here in Cornwall. The purpose of our service is to provide individuals with a meaningful and engaging daytime activity whilst meeting their care and support needs. This is an exciting role which would suit an experienced individual who has previously worked in the learning disability sector and would like to develop their management skills alongside the continued transformation of day services within Cornwall. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have experience of supporting and encouraging individuals in their daily activities whilst ensuring that care, respect and dignity are shown at all times. What we are looking for: Experience of managing and leading a team through change. Experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities or vulnerable adults. Good operational management skills: someone who is flexible, creative and analytical with an eye for detail. Someone with the ability to influence, motivate and support others and role model a 'can do' culture. Reflective as well being able to challenge others with dignity and respect. Proactive and focused on achieving outcomes for the people you support. Passionate about the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities to have ordinary lives within their own communities. Someone with the ability to develop and utilise partnerships with the wider community and who is able to develop a localised but strategic vision for the service. Ability to work well in a team but equally to be confident and able to work independently in the community when required. In the role as Team leader You will lead and supervise a team of staff, ensuring the development of their skills and professional standards. You will take responsibility for monitoring Quality Assurance processes and standards. You will take responsibility for ensuring the service works within its operating budget and resources. You will ensure the service is focused on developing and achieving outcomes as set out by individual support plans and the wider service aims and objectives. You will understand the key principles of safeguarding, person centred approaches and health and safety and above all the issues that face people with a disability on a day-to-day basis. You will undertake written record keeping and produce reports and statistics when needed in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the service. You will be able to communicate with a range of people including family, carers, colleagues and other professionals. And will be competent in the use Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel. The opportunity is for a permanent 37hr Team leader post and will primarily be working Monday to Friday covering both sites. Qualifications and Experience: The following qualifications and experience are essential: Professional qualification at level 4 or equivalent or willingness to complete post appointment. Demonstrates considerable experience of working with people with learning disabilities and their families. Evidence of considerable experience of line management. Proven ability to operate a computer and competence with a range of IT software packages. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with high support and complex needs. Evidence of the successful use of communication skills and ability to be diplomatic and work on a one-to-one basis in the community. Demonstrates experience of working with partners Demonstrates a good understanding and awareness of legal frameworks & Policies & Procedures around service provision e.g. Code of Conduct, national legislation, Health & Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding. Benefits & Our Offer to You: Pay: £26,214 - £35,858 per annum Location : Working across two service sites: St Johns Hall Alverton Street, Penzance, TR18 2QR and Parkview Old Cattle Market, Porthleven Road, Helston, TR13 0SR Hours: Full time / Permanent (37 hours per week).
