An exciting opportunity to join the Family Practitioner Service in Stafford.
1 x full time 37 hours, permanent post.
Main Responsibilities
Our Family Practitioners are key workers for the children and families we support. In this role you’ll be:
1. Leading on the completion of early help assessments and plans
2. Completing direct work with children and their families, in their home or education setting, to support positive outcomes
3. Working together with social workers to support children in need
4. Delivering group work to parents and children
5. Contributing to parenting assessments
6. Supporting mediation, crisis prevention and conflict resolution
7. Supporting on the completion of accurate documentation, reports and records relating to work you do with children, young people and their families
And through all this great work you do, you’ll be supporting children and families, with a restorative practice approach, helping them stay together where possible.
The Ideal Candidate
As a Family Practitioner you will have:
* A minimum of NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families OR relevant experience
* Experience of supporting children and their families within their homes, delivering direct work and being creative in the way that you work to engage children, their families and carers
* Be flexible with working hours as there may be occasions where evening work may be needed
* Have a current UK driving licence and vehicle
But above all, you’ll bring the desire to work with children and families to give them the right support, at the right time with the aim of keeping families together where it’s safe to do so.
