Head of Operational Services | Leading UK Services Business | Remote
Harmonic are delighted to partner with a market-leading organisation in their search for a proactive and strategic Head of Operational Support to enhance operational excellence across the business. Operating in 52 countries and providing services to customers in 100+ countries, they have placed themselves as global market leaders and are looking to recruit a high calibre leader to help them maintain this position and drive further innovation and growth going forward. They are currently undergoing a period of transformation which has seen teams across all departments drastically increasing in size following the acquisition of new clients. They are seeking a talented operational leader who can drive continuous improvement and deliver impactful operational efficiencies using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Head of Operational Support will play a pivotal role in driving business transformation, influencing cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring consistent delivery of strategic goals across multiple UK locations. This role requires a skilled people leader, experienced in mentoring and coaching teams to success, with a strong track record in operational management and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set and monitor departmental KPIs that challenge and elevate operational performance.
* Identify, prioritise, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with strategic organisational objectives.
* Lead critical expansion and improvement projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget, achieving quality benchmarks and projected benefits.
* Directly manage the Fleet Department, Health & Safety Facilities team, Training Department, and key supplier relationships.
* Conduct comprehensive data analysis and problem-solving exercises to identify root causes, validate solutions, and measure effectiveness.
* Drive adoption and embedding of Lean Six Sigma principles across operations, enhancing productivity and financial results.
* Document best practices, ensuring knowledge transfer and sustainability of improvement measures.
* Stay abreast of emerging trends within Lean Six Sigma and pursue innovative practices to maintain competitive advantage.
* Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and professional growth.
What we need to see (Essential):
* Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from a recognised institution.
* Proven experience leading transformation projects.
* Proven capability in delivering significant, measurable operational improvements.
* Exceptional leadership skills, able to build influential relationships with stakeholders across all levels.
* Strong analytical skills, adept at root cause analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical methods.
* Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly and succinctly.
* Detail-oriented with a capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Experience leading and scaling teams.
Salary: £80k + Bonus + Benefits
