As the Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with the class teacher and providing tailored support to children aged 7-11. Key Responsibilities: Work with small groups or individual students, offering additional support as a Teaching Assistant to address learning gaps and boost confidence. Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources, displays, and materials to enhance the learning environment. As a Teaching Assistant, monitor and track pupil's progress, offering feedback and ensuring that interventions are working effectively. Essential Criteria: Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, particularly with KS2 students. A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent). Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and how to effectively support children in key subjects like English, Maths, and Science. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and other school staff. A genuine passion for supporting children's academic and personal development, demonstrated through your experience as a Teaching Assistant. Desirable: Experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL). Knowledge of intervention strategies to support literacy and numeracy development in KS2. Familiarity with preparing students for SATs or other assessments as a Teaching Assistant.
