This is a permanent role About the role As a Technical Officer within our busy Council Town Planning team, you’ll be responsible for receiving and checking new planning and related applications to ensure they contain sufficient information for our Planning Officers to consider them. You will check that the application fee is correct and liaise with customers to obtain missing information and handle a range of customer enquiries. The salary for this role is between £30,559 to £34,314 plus benefits. About you With a good standard of education, you’ll be a confident, organised, hard working person and have excellent customer service skills. You’ll also have the ability to effectively prioritise your own workload and remain calm under pressure in addition to excellent IT skills and the ability to quickly learn and navigate new systems. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and have good attention to detail, particularly as you will be working within a busy service. An understanding of the planning process would be an advantage. With easy access to the M4 and M3 motorways and on a train line between Reading and Waterloo and also Reading and Gatwick. You will be provided with a laptop and hybrid working is available.
