About Us
In Kensington and Chelsea, we put people first. We are committed to ensuring that our communities can access the support they need when they need it. Our Housing Needs Department is at the heart of what we do, providing essential support to find solutions for people in housing need.
Our teams do incredible work. And in return we provide them with all the support they need to do their jobs. Plus, a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme, and generous annual leave.
The Role
Employed by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, this is a subregional role identifying opportunities for additional funding and initiating and implementing projects and services to prevent and relieve homelessness and rough sleeping across the seven Boroughs of the West London Housing Partnership: Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, and Hounslow.
Coordinating the work of various subregional groups, you will collaborate with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders, organisations and sectors to deliver projects effectively and efficiently.
The role involves data analysis, finance, contract management and assessing performance, ensuring that services are high quality and meeting need. You will also work with the Boroughs and the West London Alliance on subregional projects to improve the quality and supply of accommodation.
Most importantly, you will put people first. This role’s key function is to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness, so you will use your skills and your ability to access resources to meet this objective.
About You
With considerable experience of working in homelessness, a good knowledge of homelessness legislation and a good understanding of the role of local and other Government departments in this sector, you will be a strategic thinker with understanding of the homelessness and rough sleeping landscape, strong budget management skills and commissioning experience.
Your ability to influence and negotiate will mean you can build strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners across the subregion and wider sector.
With the ability to work flexibly, and independently, you will need to be proactive and organised, outcomes focused and committed to always putting the people of West London first. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the seven Boroughs to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme, and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
We are committed to promoting equality and respecting diversity and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
We are a Disability Confident Employer – committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
