Stockbridge Village Health Centre are looking for an experienced registered practice nurse to join its nursing team. We are a well-established practice with a young team of partners that are forward-thinking and working towards modernising the practice. Previous experience in a GP Surgery and monitoring of long-term conditions is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services care to the practice population. Supported by the lead nurse practitioner, they will deliver care within the boundaries of their scope of practice, focusing on supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring and managing long-term conditions, and engaging in health prevention and screening activities that may include cervical screening, baby immunisations, and travel health. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
About us
Stockbridge Village Health Centre is a long-serving practice that is at the heart of the community. We have good staff retention, and most of the GPs who are now employed at Stockbridge as salaried GPs or partners have trained here as registrars. We currently have three partners and four salaried GPs. There is a supportive management and administrative team consisting of a Business Manager, Practice Manager, three Operational Managers, a data team, and several receptionists.

Special requirements of the post require an understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to use judgment, resourcefulness, and common sense. A commitment to maintaining a high professional standard of nursing care and keeping up to date with all aspects of nursing care relevant to the post is essential. The candidate must ensure all Health and Safety requirements and Infection Control measures are met and report any problems to the Nurse Lead. A commitment to the effective use of practice and NHS resources is necessary. An awareness of own limitations and experience is required, and the candidate should work only in accordance with the UKCC Code of Conduct and within the scope of professional practice. They should have a written professional development plan and maintain an up-to-date portfolio that meets the requirements of registration with the UKCC, as well as cooperate with annual appraisal meetings. Membership of the RCN is also expected.
