As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students and staff to foster a love of learning, improve literacy skills, and support academic achievement across all key stages. Key Responsibilities 1:1 Support : Provide one-to-one assistance to students who require additional help with English language or literature. Small Group Work : Lead small intervention groups to focus on improving literacy, comprehension, and writing skills. Classroom Assistance : Work alongside the class teacher to support lesson delivery, ensuring all students can access the curriculum effectively. Targeted Interventions : Assist students who are preparing for key exams, such as GCSEs, by providing tailored support in line with their needs and learning plans. Mentoring : Act as a role model and mentor, encouraging a positive attitude toward education and fostering confidence in students’ abilities. Resource Preparation : Support teachers in preparing engaging resources for lessons, ensuring a variety of learning needs are met. Progress Monitoring : Help monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers to adapt support strategies as necessary. What We’re Looking For Graduate in English or Related Field : A strong academic background in English language, literature, or a related discipline. Passion for Education : An enthusiasm for supporting young people in their academic journey, particularly in the subject of English. Strong Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students. Adaptability and Initiative : A proactive approach to supporting students with varying abilities and needs.
