About therole
Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire provides the most renewable power of anysingle location in the UK, enough electricity to power the equivalent of fourmillion homes. This 12-month placement is an opportunity to gain hands onexperience working for nationally significant asset.
Joining ourControl & Instrumentation Engineering team, you’ll be able to put yourlearning into practice working on a range of projects and upgrades. From supportingday-to-day modifications to our existing control systems (including PLCs, DCSand SCADA systems), to working on a major outage and supporting NIS regulationcompliance and adoption of IEC62443, this is truly a varied role.
Your development
You’ll receive a comprehensive welcome and induction to Drax and can lookforward to a structured development plan of learning on our ICE trainingscheme.
Our student‘Power up’ development programme has been designed to provide you with aselection of essential and technical skills, and the opportunity to developyour business acumen and personal development.
Who we’relooking for
To be successful in thisrole you’ll need to be:
- Working towards a BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or a related subject
- Currently enrolled in a course that allows for a 12-month industrial placement
- Willing to travel to our site in Selby from Monday to Friday each week
