Role Responsibility Drug and Alcohol Project Officer This new role offers you an exciting opportunity to support delivery of our Kent Drug and Alcohol Strategy. You will work as a member of the Public Health Team in partnership with commissioners. As well as co-ordinating delivery of the strategy, you will also support on projects such as real-time surveillance of drug and alcohol related deaths in Kent, implementation of the Local Drug Information System (LDIS) and the Combatting Drugs Partnership. Integrated Commissioning promotes the prevention of poor health and seeks to address health inequalities and inequities locally. The wider team commission public health services including community drug and alcohol services, undertake research, work in health protection and carry out analysis of health-related data. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills to work efficiently and effectively across organisational boundaries and with internal partners. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
