Corporate Collections Officer
Location: Hillingdon
Rate: £20/hr
Start date: ASAP
Full Time: Mon - Fri, 36 hrs a week
Hatched Recruitment is working with the local authorities to find a Collection Officer in the Hillingdon area. The role will be with the Adult Social Care Team, addressing the Adult Social Care debt position to release funds from the ASC bad debt provision.
ROLE PURPOSE:
1. Provide an effective, efficient, and quality service to maximise collection and recovery of all invoices/recovery notices issued.
2. Determine appropriate recovery actions on invoices/recovery notices, including referrals to legal services, bailiffs, recovery agents, DWP, and third parties, and liaising with these organisations to settle queries.
3. Process credit notes, refunds, write-offs, statements, standing orders, and ensure collection of direct debits and manage rejected direct debits within regulations.
4. Maintain system controls to ensure the correct and timely issuing and collection of daily/periodic invoices.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience of working within a financial environment in a large organisation for more than two years.
2. Demonstrable experience in dealing with the public regarding financial affairs in writing, interviews, and on the telephone.
3. Practical experience in debt recovery and credit control.
4. Experience of organising and managing a varied workload to meet deadlines and set targets.
5. Experience of presenting evidence cases in a County Court.
