Loughborough Amherst School is a Catholic co-educational independent school for pupils aged 4-18. Rooted in the teachings of our Founder, Antonio Rosmini, we have a long and respected tradition of educating the whole person.
Supported by the Catholic Diocese of Nottingham, we seek to appoint a well-qualified Head of Religious Education who is committed to enhancing the spiritual life of the school community.
The successful candidate will have experience of teaching Religious Education at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level and an excellent track record of examination results. Our Religious Education department has an exceptional record of public examination results. All pupils sit GCSE Religious Studies: WJEC Eduqas GCSE grades 9-1: Route B Catholic Christianity with three components of Foundational Catholic Theology, Applied Catholic Theology and Judaism. At A Level Religious Studies, pupils study Pearson Edexcel 9RS0/ZW with components of Philosophy of Religion, Religion and Ethics, and Christianity.
Excellent subject knowledge and a strong work ethic are essential, as is the ability to teach engaging lessons.
