Job Summary This post offers an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is qualified in Scottish Law to provide specialist legal support and advice within our business. In this role, you will play a key role in the management of legal issues, compliance matters, and general support to departments with contractual and regulatory matters. Responsibilities and Duties As our Solicitor, you will provide high-level legal support and advice in various aspects of practices, such as corporate law, contracts, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. You will work with internal stakeholders from the finance, compliance, and operations teams to identify and limit legal risks. Some of the key responsibilities will also include: Provide professional legal advice and support regarding corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues. Prepare, review, and negotiate various contracts Management of Legal Team currently three legal assistants Advise on legal risk and compliance matters to ensure the business is compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations. Assist in the management of disputes, including the conduct of pre-litigation negotiations where necessary, and the instruction of external Counsel, and represent ZLX in legal proceedings. Collaboration with internal departments: Provide concise, clear, commercially sound legal advice that enables the business to achieve its aims. Research and interpretation of laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the business. Qualifications and Skills Qualified Solicitor in Scotland; dual qualification in England or Wales would be advantageous but not essential Post Qualified Experience in a commercial & contractual legal environment-in-house or private practice. Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial law Proven experience in the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. Handles multiple projects simultaneously; produces outputs to tight deadlines. High-level analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as part of a team. Previous experience within a financial services or regulated industry background would be advantageous but not essential.
