LIFE PRACTITIONER
The Role
To provide support, learning, and care, in a therapeutically informed way to individuals in a variety of settings including the home, and life activities facilitating a positive lived experience enabling individuals to become the very best version of themselves.
A Life Practitioner should have a deep understanding of the characteristics, challenges, and needs of individuals with a learning disability and an autism diagnosis. This includes knowledge of different types of disabilities, communication strategies, sensory sensitivities, and behavioural patterns.
What will you be doing:
1. Working with the staff team across all levels to safeguard our young adults at all times.
2. Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community.
3. Assisting with practical tasks relating to care, for example, cooking and cleaning.
4. Creating positive relationships with the young adults, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
5. Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the young adults.
6. Continually maintaining accurate and clear record keeping.
7. Ensuring that the needs of the young adults are being met and regularly reviewing and recording any changes to their needs.
8. Actively contributing to the development of the team.

What experience and qualifications do you need:
1. A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
2. A strong team player.
3. Resilient and confident to ask for support as needed.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5. Computer literacy.
6. A Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
