Project Implementation Lead. Hybrid Role. FTC. 44-52k pro rata. 6 month initial contract with options to extend 3-6 months
Role Purpose
The Project Implementation Lead will play a pivotal role in delivering and integrating new systems, including RIO and PCMIS, as part of the modernisation of my clients patient management system. This role will focus on ensuring these systems meet clinical, operational, and data requirements, while driving successful adoption and alignment across the organisation. Additionally, the Implementation Lead will be responsible for establishing and managing robust programme governance, ensuring timely support, delivery, and alignment with organisational goals and the wider digital strategy.
Key Responsibilities
System Delivery and Integration
· Support the end-to-end delivery and implementation of RIO and PCMIS systems, ensuring they replace existing systems effectively and align with the organisations digital strategy.
· Work with clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure system configurations meet organisational needs and adhere to NHS and regulatory standards.
· Lead testing and quality assurance processes to validate system functionality, data accuracy, and usability prior to deployment.
Programme Governance
· Establish and manage programme governance structures to ensure accountability, transparency, and timely decision-making throughout the implementation process.
· Monitor project milestones, actions, risks, and dependencies, ensuring any challenges are addressed promptly to maintain delivery schedules.
· Provide regular progress reports to leadership, highlighting achievements, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (clinical, operational, IT teams) and external partners (suppliers).
· Facilitate collaboration across teams to ensure alignment of goals and expectations, addressing concerns or feedback effectively.
· Lead stakeholder briefings, training and workshops to communicate the benefits, progress, and impact of the system changes.
Change Management and User Adoption
· Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy to support the adoption of RIO and PCMIS systems across the business
· Support the delivery of tailored training to ensure end-users are equipped to utilise the new systems effectively.
· Engage with staff and stakeholders to gather feedback and refine system implementation processes to improve user experience.
Compliance and Data Management
· Ensure the new systems meet all clinical, operational, and data compliance requirements, including those outlined in NHS frameworks (e.g., MHSDS).
· Oversee the transition of patient data from legacy systems to new platforms, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security.
Key Skills and Competencies
Programme Leadership
· Proven ability to lead complex, multi-faceted implementation programmes.
· Strong understanding of programme governance and the ability to manage timelines, risks, and dependencies effectively.
Technical Expertise
· Knowledge of healthcare IT systems, particularly RIO and PCMIS, and their role within patient management.
· Familiarity with NHS data standards, clinical workflows, and interoperability requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholder groups and maintain alignment across clinical, operational, and IT teams.
Change Management
· Expertise in driving organisational change, including the adoption of new systems and processes, and addressing resistance effectively.
Data and Compliance
· Strong understanding of data governance, reporting requirements, and NHS compliance frameworks (e.g., MHSDS).
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
· Demonstrable experience in leading the implementation of IT systems.
· Strong background in programme governance and project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
· Knowledge of NHS systems, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Desirable:
· Experience in managing large-scale digital transformation within healthcare or mental health services.
· Certification in change management or digital transformation.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Successful implementation and integration of RIO and PCMIS systems within agreed timelines and budget.
· High levels of user adoption and satisfaction post-implementation.
· Compliance with NHS standards, including accurate and timely data submissions to MHSDS.
· Positive feedback from stakeholders on programme governance and delivery.
