In order to ensure a smooth handover for the retirement of the current post-holder, we seek an experienced leader from a manufacturing environment. You may currently be a Production Manager, Planner, Procurement Manager, Operations Manager or similar - the operation is in a healthy state, so this is more about continuing the success rather than implementing more radical changes.
Your role will involve:
Managing an operation with approximately 100 staff (with 5 Supervisors) involving production, welding, cutting.
Maintaining the existing high-level motivation and productivity
Managing the peaks and troughs in production that are inherent to the manufacturing for construction industry
Capturing, analysing and reporting dataYou may not necessarily be in a Production Manager or Operations Manager role currently, but you will have an excellent understanding of the manufacturing process, and ideally a good awareness of the peaks and troughs that are a major part of manufacturing for construction. Your people skills will be as important as your analytical mind, so we are keen to speak to you if you have a good track record as a "firm but fair" motivator of people.
What's in it for you?
You'll be working for a family business with a very hands-on, down to earth senior management team, who will support and encourage you every step of the way
Success will be rewarded
No KPIs, you will be assessed on output to meet customer requirements and maintaining the company's existing first-class reputation
The company is growing and as it grows there is opportunity to expand your responsibilities
Stability: there is a wide product range, hence less dependency on market changes
You will have the opportunity to learn from the current post-holder who will be retiring early 2026 - you won't be dropped in at the deep end!
Salary will be dependent upon experience, but will be in the region of £40-50,000 + car, discretionary bonus, 21 days' holiday + statutory bank holidays, + healthcareInterested? Apply today or call Sue Eustace for a confidential chat.
