Job Description:
As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will play a vital role in reducing crime and making communities safer. You’ll work with local people and support officers, building important relationships that contribute to community safety.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
1. Assisting and supporting police officers
2. Gathering intelligence
3. Carrying out security patrols
4. Reassuring the public
5. Providing support at ceremonial and special events
6. Responding to major incidents and security alerts
7. Making house-to-house enquiries
8. Issuing fixed penalty notices
In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary of £33,348, including a £2,841 location allowance, and a shift disturbance allowance of between 12.5% and 20%. Full training will be provided, including Personal Safety and Emergency Life Support.
What You’ll Need:
1. Comfortable speaking to members of the public
2. A keen learner motivated to complete training programs
3. Understanding of community engagement
4. Willingness to spend time on your feet
5. GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English (or willingness to take a written test)
We are looking for PCSOs across London. Placement locations will be balanced with your preferences and the needs of the Metropolitan Police.
