The Price Management team is responsible for overseeing all pricing-related knowledge for customers, maintaining accurate records, and projecting future energy costs. This role involves managing complex flexible energy supply contracts, ensuring accurate billing across power, gas, and water tariffs, and continuously improving service delivery. The candidate will support customer energy spend on both fixed and flexible contracts, lead the team in matters related to non-commodity charges, industry tariffs, and reconciliations, and advise customers on managing future energy costs to ensure accurate accounting. They will also interpret energy contracts, develop analytical models using tools like Matlab, and collaborate with the trading desk for risk management. Staying updated on market changes and communicating these to internal teams is also key to the role.
The ideal candidate should have experience in a financial or accounting role, ideally managing utility expenditure of over £10 million annually. A strong knowledge of power, gas, and water commodities is essential, as well as proficiency in Excel and other data analytic tools. They should also have an understanding of the UK energy market, including policies related to carbon management, renewable technologies, and electricity market reforms. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are required, and while knowledge of the utilities industry is beneficial, it is not essential. The role is based in London, Northampton, or other Mitie offices with flexibility for remote working 2-3 days a week.
