About the role
As an Insurance & Intervention Handler at Otto Car, you’ll play a key role in managing and optimising our motor insurance portfolio, you’ll help to protect the business while supporting our continued growth. From ensuring accurate policy coverage to resolving third-party claims, you’ll sit front and centre of our Insurance Function.
Reporting into our Insurance Manager, you’ll work cross-functionally with insurers and internal teams to keep our policies compliant, efficient, and aligned with day-to-day operations. Whether you’re reconciling monthly declarations, investigating policy breaches, or improving our claims process, this is a hands-on role for someone who’s detail-driven, proactive, and comfortable navigating complex insurance matters.

What you’ll be doing
Third Party Intervention Responsibilities:
(Primary Role)
* Manage third party claims where Otto Car is at fault, coordinating directly with affected parties and communicating our offering.
* Arrange third party vehicle collections, courtesy cars and repairs through our internal repair network, including logistics coordination.
* Approve repair quotes, verify invoices and provide regular updates to third parties on repair progress.
* Ensure a smooth handover post-repair, collecting courtesy vehicles and confirming customer satisfaction.
Insurance Responsibilities:
* Oversee the timely addition and removal of vehicles and drivers across insurance policies, ensuring accurate coverage that aligns with operational needs and reduces unnecessary risk.
* Review and approve monthly insurance declarations, maintain accurate reporting of cover change and manage the insurance shared inbox for timely handling of queries.
* Liaise with internal teams to identify and address policy breaches, implementing mitigation measures where necessary.
* Maintain organised records of all insurance transactions and communications to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
What we’re looking for
* 2-3 years experience in automotive insurance administration
* Solid understanding of motor insurance policies and related compliance requirements
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
* Effective communicator, confident liaising with insurers, legal teams, and internal stakeholders
* Proactive problem-solver with sound judgement in managing risk-related issues
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
* Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
