Apricus Resourcing are working on an ongoing locum role for a local council authority, based in Skelmersdale.
The role is Homelessness Advice and Prevention Officer.
The purpose of this role is to interview and assess those people who present as homeless or potentially homeless to establish any responsibilities the Council may have in accordance with the relevant legislation. The post holder will assist in maintaining service quality to internal and external customers, through the effective delivery of their allocated tasks.
Key duties include:
* Conduct one-to-one interviews with those members of the public who approach the Council for help because they are homeless or threatened with homelessness to determine their housing needs.
* Assist clients wherever possible to prevent their homelessness by providing timely advice around alternative housing options or to liaise with third party agencies on the client’s behalf to try and resolve any issues.
The post holder will assist in maintaining service quality to internal and external customers, through the effective delivery of their allocated task, The post holder has no direct line management responsibility nor any budgetary responsibilities.
The Councils normal working week for the purposes of calculation of premium rates and enhancements is Monday to Friday 7 am to 7 pm
The rate of pay for role is between £17- £18 per hour.
The role offers the chance to work from home and the office with a scale 6 company car.
