The Governors are looking to appoint a highly effective teaching assistant to start by 4th January, 2025 or earlier if possible. We are looking for a skilled practitioner who can support children with complex special educational needs, within mainstream classrooms and in our specialised Puffins classroom. Candidates need to have recent experience of dealing successfully with children who have complex needs, speech, language and communication difficulties and ASD. The successful candidate will have experience across the primary age range but with specific knowledge of Early Years and Early Child Development with a background of providing high quality learning experiences adapted to meet needs identified within an EHCP. Some elements of personal care for specific children may also be required. We are looking to appoint a truly nurturing, enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated Teaching Assistant who can think creatively and have the determination to secure the best possible outcomes for every child. The successful applicant will be expected to support the learning of individuals or groups of pupils across all subjects. The successful applicant will hold an appropriate NVQ 2 qualification or equivalent and will be able to demonstrate experience of working with children with SEND including complex learning and communication needs. Experience of Makaton, PECS and working in a total communication environment would be beneficial.
