The Job Role:
We are exclusively representing our fast-growing client as they introduce a new role within their business. We are delighted to be searching for a Finance and Operations Manager – this role will be fast-paced, dynamic and is well-suited to candidates who are looking for a role working in fast-growing company. We would love to hear from candidates who already have solid experience working within finance, but also business and operations management experience. We need somebody who can make impact immediately and wont be fazed by a busy role.
Our client is located in the heart of the city centre, this will be an office-based role. The successful Finance and Operations Manager should expect a fast-paced, process-driven role which will require strict attention to detail at all times. This will be an incredibly varied role, but here is a taster of some of the main duties and responsibilities that the successful Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for; - Working collaboratively with the entire team to ensure workflows are managed and all work is being delivered on time – Full responsibility for managing budgets from scoping out a project right through to delivery – these budgets will need to be communicated at all times – Negotiating contracts with new and existing clients, this will often involve meeting with clients together with the CEO, mostly in Sheffield, but with occasional travel to London – Responsibility for ensuring the business is fully protected and compliant at all times including contracts, NDA’s and other legal documentation, at times this will involve input and liaison with external lawyers – Full control of finances, using Xero, with Bookkeeping responsibilities including payroll, invoicing, P&L and liaison with external Accountants – General people management to oversee the team and ensure the company’s culture is fully embedded across everything everybody is doing – Identifying gaps within the business and professionalising the organisation where appropriate this will include drafting new policies and procedures and polishing whatever is already in place where appropriate – Overseeing HR across the organisation – General business administration on behalf of the CEO including arranging appointments, and updating internal systems – Management of internal comms including weekly updates that are shared across all teams across the business – Supporting the team with external comms including social media and updating the company website - Working with the CEO and wider teams on deliverables to ensure all projects are being managed effectively – Working collaboratively with external stakeholders – General office management of the Sheffield HQ including liaison with building management, procurement of stock and management of deliveries
We would be delighted to hear from candidates who have the following skills and experience; - Finance skills are a must, the ideal candidate should have Bookkeeping experience and know their way around Xero confidently – Budget management is a huge part of this role and as such experience of managing budgets is essential – Strong confidence using IT including the full suite of MS Office – Extremely capable using Excel as spreadsheets will form a huge part of this role – Regulatory experience including contract negotiations, drawing up legal paper work and contracts is essential – People management skills including supporting a team and having courageous conversations where appropriate – Attention to detail at the strictest level – Process driven, if you would describe yourself as ‘clinical’ when it comes to delivering tasks then we would love to hear from you – Exceptional communication skills and confidence to liaise with a full range of stakeholders including internal and external – Project Management skills and strong understanding of ensuring projects run as seamlessly as possible from start to finish – Flexibility will be required especially during busy times and when projects are reaching deadline – Confidence to meet with clients face to face – Exposure to general office and facilities management
