Pay Scale: NJC Inner London Pay Scales - £5,563.57 (Fixed spine point 4)

We require an enthusiastic Midday Meal Supervisor to work in the Primary phase of our thriving, oversubscribed and outstanding all-through school. Main Purpose
A midday meal supervisor will be part of a team that is responsible for supervising children and the school’s premises during the midday break to ensure that the break runs effectively and that the safety and welfare of the children are maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To safeguard children and ensure and promote their health & safety.
2. Supervise pupils in the lunch area, playground and classrooms (for wet play).
3. Manage pupils’ entrance and exit from the lunch area in an orderly manner.
4. Assisting and directing pupils in the dining areas and on the school site.
5. Encourage children to eat their lunch and monitor those who don’t, reporting any concerns to the class teacher.
6. Clean up food and water spillages.
7. Organising lunchtime activities in conjunction with other staff.
8. Coordinate constructive activities and games to interest and stimulate the children.
9. Ensure positive relationships with children. Interact with children, discussions, playing a game or simply having a conversation on a one to one basis.
10. Help to resolve issues between pupils during play activities. Take necessary action to minimise disruption and harm to pupils, in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
11. Observe pupils and the environment and take action to minimise any identified health and safety risks.
12. Deliver first aid to respond to minor incidents and refer any major incidents to a qualified first aider.
13. Take part in professional development training.
14. Feedback concerns relating to pupils’ health and safety to a senior member of staff.
15. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
16. Take responsibility for tackling racism, all types of discrimination and harassment of any kind.
