We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newham to assist with the appointment of a Developer Contributions Principal Planner, on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £27.06 - £34.30 per hour Responsibilities: To establish and administer a CIL for Newham, manage, monitor and review it as necessary. To administer the Mayor of Londons CIL, input into planned changes or reviews to it. To negotiate and administer s106 and CIL receipts in accordance with Council and departmental guidelines. Lead on the preparation of policies, procedures and guidance notes and the development of quality assurance and system manuals on good practice for all Planning Obligations and CIL matters. To contribute to the local plan evidence base, policy development and other policy documents where appropriate. Qualifications: A recognised degree in Town Planning and sufficient postqualification experience to qualify for membership of the RTPI or RICS (An equivalent qualification in a related construction/regeneration-related profession may be considered acceptable if combined with sufficient relevant experience); OR A related degree and ability to gain entry to course leading to a professional qualification (e.g. post graduate diploma). Experience: Experience of undertaking complex spatial planning work, or work in a related discipline, and in a high-pressure environment. the impact of economic factors on planning applications and policy. Experience of supervising a group of professional, technical and administrative staff within a service environment Experience of the professional and technical skills associated with a spatial planning service. Experience of developing good working relationships with a wide range of internal bodies, external customers and other stakeholders as part of developing effective service delivery Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
