About the role
We are hiring an Engineering Team Leader at our Ossett site to lead a team of 3 engineers on shift. This hands-on role involves managing all aspects of daily maintenance, working a 12-hour shift pattern on days and nights, with overtime available.
What will I be doing?
Leadership:
* Work with Production Team Leads/Managers to deliver high-quality engineering support aligned with operational targets.
* Supervise and coordinate engineering activities supporting manufacturing operations.
* Achieve team KPIs related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance.
* Coach and develop team members on safe practices and fault diagnosis.
* Plan and allocate team resources efficiently.
* Motivate and manage team performance, identify development needs, and implement growth plans.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives, including root cause analysis.
* Contribute as a key member of the Site Engineering Team, demonstrating company values and flexibility.
* Manage non-conformance and corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Hands-on activities:
* Address reactive maintenance needs.
* Assist with developing PPM systems and scheduling maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with legislation and procedures.
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain production machinery.
* Communicate effectively with production staff regarding issues.
* Maximize line availability by reducing downtime.
* Conduct effective root cause analysis.
* Manage maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
* Support continuous site improvements.
Requirements for success:

* Experience in an FMCG environment.
* Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, with Electrical Engineering HND/HNC/BTech or equivalent experience.
* Strong fault-finding skills.
* PLC fault-finding (desirable).
* Experience in a team leader role is beneficial but not mandatory.
