Our Slough Community Mental Health Service is a well-established group of dedicated professionals, including social workers, community mental health nurses, consultant psychiatrists, psychological therapists, occupational therapists, community support workers, employment specialists, and administrative staff. Jointly funded by the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Slough Borough Council, we are committed to providing top-class care and support to adults with significant mental illnesses and their carers.

Main duties of the job
What We’re Looking For:
As an integral member of the management team, you’ll support the effective operational management and leadership of the service.
You’ll act as the senior point of contact for all administrative matters, communicating complex, sensitive, and confidential information including patient data, coordinating communication, and making appropriate decisions to escalate to senior managers when necessary.
You’ll promote and encourage good working relationships across the service by supporting effective communication channels, reviewing, and improving existing procedures where necessary.
You’ll liaise confidently and effectively with all levels of staff within the Trust, including patients and visitors, voluntary and external organisations including Slough Borough Council.
To provide operational leadership to the teams of administrative, reception, and secretarial staff to ensure a responsive and flexible service. To plan and allocate resources as required ensuring the efficient use of such resources.

Person specification
Education/Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent qualification or demonstrable level of knowledge in a relevant discipline
* Business or Administrative qualification (NVQ 4 in Business & Administration or equivalent) or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
Previous Experience
* Experience of working in a business or administrative role.
* Excellent knowledge and experience of using a variety of IT packages (such as MS Office) and other electronic systems (RiO, ESR, Dragon Software, etc.)
* Demonstrable experience of coordinating administrative processes within a busy office and/or care environment.
* Experience of managing data for performance and reporting purposes
* Experience of supervision of staff including performance and absence management.
Knowledge & Skills
* Work effectively within a team and manage others’ workload
