MSIM Fixed Income is a global fixed income effort with $185 Billion in AUM and 225 spanning global fixed income markets. MSIM Broad Markets Fixed Income team (BMFI) manages $88 Billion in AUM across sovereign, short maturity, investment grade, aggregate and opportunistic fixed income strategies. BMFI is a 60-member team that are primarily based in Boston, New York, and London. BMFI is looking to add a skilled trader and investor to its Macro trading desk in London. The position will primarily focus on Global developed markets rates (duration, curve, vol and linkers) and foreign exchange both in cash and derivative space. The role will also serve as a back up to sector trading desk, especially the Euro IG desk in London.

What will you be doing?
1. Execute trades and identify trading strategies/relative value opportunities in the DM Interest Rate, FX and Derivatives markets.
2. Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, with broader Fixed Income team colleagues and dealer relationships.
3. Collaborate with MSIM's global fixed income investment professionals to assess market dynamics and strategies and contribute to the portfolio construction process through sharing market insights regarding trading levels, liquidity, and flows.
4. Liaise with operations and other fixed income business colleagues to maintain and enhance workflow efficiency, monitor risk, and improve communication.
5. Pursue Market Structure development efforts that benefit our trading implementation.
6. Improve workflow efficiency through use of technology and systems.
What we’re looking for:
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics or other quantitative major
2. CFA designation preferred or working towards
3. Extensive fixed income trading experience, with a strong focus on Interest Rates and FX trading
4. Knowledge of derivatives markets is a requirement. Buy-side experience strongly preferred.
5. Self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills and high integrity
6. Risk taking mindset and ability to assess relative value opportunities
7. Proficient with Technology and other analytical tools
8. Experience with the Aladdin OMS or similar platform preferred
9. Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
10. Manifested interest in technology and innovation to improve trading implementation

This role is deemed as a Certified role and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
