Overseeing 2 bed EBD home About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to lead and manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a Children’s Home. The role requires ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding young people, and promoting their well-being, education, and development. The Registered Children's Home Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operation of a residential children’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care for young people with mental health and behavioural conditions. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, where young people receive tailored support to promote emotional well-being, personal development, and positive outcomes. The manager will oversee care planning, safeguarding, and compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation, ensuring the home meets all statutory and quality standards. They will lead and develop a team of support staff, providing supervision, training, and motivation to maintain a high-performance culture. Key responsibilities include budget management, risk assessment, liaising with external professionals, and ensuring that therapeutic interventions and behaviour support strategies are effectively implemented. The role demands a strong, compassionate, and resilient leader who can manage complex challenges while fostering a culture of respect, stability, and continuous improvement, enabling young people to develop essential life skills and transition successfully into adulthood Key Responsibilities Managing all aspects of the daily operations of the children’s home, ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of the young people in line with Ofsted regulations and company policies. Supervise and support staff to uphold high standards of care, values, and ethical practices, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and inspection frameworks. Provide coaching and supervision to team members, promoting their professional development and ensuring a high level of performance. Participate in the on-call roster to ensure operational continuity and support when needed. Liaise with external agencies and other departments to develop tailored plans and programs that meet the needs of the young people and contractual requirements. Assess risks during the admissions process to accurately determine the immediate vulnerabilities and needs of young people. Promote a culture of health and safety, ensuring compliance with company and external accreditation standards. Build professional, respectful, and trusting relationships with young people to support their growth and foster positive behavioural changes. Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating the importance of education, care, and life skills to help young people transition successfully into adulthood. Complete and maintain accurate paperwork to a high standard, meeting required timescales and communication guidelines. Support senior management in implementing developmental strategies and embracing organizational change. Skills and Attributes Essential: QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent. Managerial or supervisory experience within residential care. Full UK driving license. Experience in project/work planning, monitoring, and reviewing. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Desirable: Working towards a QCF Level 5 qualification in a relevant field. Why Join Us?
