Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £47,652 - £50,500 (DOE) + Overtime
Location: Hemsworth - commutable from South Kirby, Pontefract, Barnsley, Rotherham, and other Wakefield surroundings
Shift pattern: Days and nights 8, 10 & 12hr Shift patterns (40-hour week)
Holidays: 28 holidays per year including Bank Holidays, increasing to 33 days + 2 weeks full pay paternity leave

The Company
ATA have partnered with a well-established family-run business, operating for over 100 years and supplying to some of the biggest names in the retail sector. As the maintenance engineer, you will work on fully automated kit at their main head office site in Wakefield. They are looking for a maintenance engineer who is versatile, flexible to accommodate seasonal working hours, and a methodical thinker when it comes to diagnosing and fault-finding on various machinery and components. You will work alongside a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers on conveyors, baggers, palletisers, and much more.
The Role
As the maintenance engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting planned and preventive maintenance on automated and complex machinery
2. Fault finding primarily on mechanical components including bearings, shafts, gearboxes, rollers, and more
3. Maintaining levels of critical spares
4. Fabricating/making parts with some welding, using lathes, etc.
Requirements
As the maintenance engineer, our client requires:
1. NVQ level 3 apprenticeship (or equivalent) in engineering, ideally in mechanical engineering
2. Good understanding of fault finding both mechanically and electrically
3. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
4. Experience working within an automated factory is highly advantageous but not essential
