Job Description
This role involves working as an Interim Regulatory Services Environmental Health Officer.
* Carrying out inspections of low and medium risk food premises to ensure compliance with UK and international safety standards.
* Issuing relevant certifications and enforcing actions where necessary.
* Providing expert advice and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this role is on ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation across various premises. This includes:
* Inspecting food businesses to identify areas for improvement.
* Issuing certificates and taking enforcement actions when required.
* Offering expert advice and guidance to help businesses comply with regulations.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:
* A recognized food qualification that enables them to carry out interventions in line with Food Standards Agency guidelines.
* Certificate of Registration from the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board or equivalent.
* Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance related to environmental health and food safety.
* A minimum of two years' experience in inspecting food businesses.
* Demonstrable compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements and the competency criteria set by the FLCofP.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
