Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. NVQ 3/ BTEC or equivalent in health related subject
2. English & Maths GCSE (Grade C or equivalent)
3. Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
1. Relevant experience of working with people with disabilities.
2. Relevant experience of working as part of a team.
3. Experience of working with minimal supervision & dealing with any issues that will require exercising judgment.
4. Relevant experience of working with disability equipment.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of working in a health or community setting
Skills/knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Awareness of complex disability
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - face-to-face, on the telephone and via electronic media (e.g. email)
3. Ability to teach clients, relatives and staff safe and effective use of related equipment
4. Ability to demonstrate written skills that are relevant, accurate, concise and legible.
5. Ability to work independently as well as within the community setting
6. Competent IT skills and computer literate
7. Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and delegate when necessary. Evidence of time management
8. An ability to understand/show self awareness of own levels of competency /limitations and when you would need to seek support

1. Technical skills relating to wheelchairs

1. Able to travel independently to multiple locations around the city in one day whilst transporting equipment
2. Ability to work flexibly.
3. Ability to manually handle patients and / or equipment safely to attain positioning necessary to perform safe and effective clinical instruction.
