Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Unit Administration Coordinator to work as part of a job share in our busy Ophthalmic Day Unit in the lovely town of Bexhill. This is a very demanding but fulfilling role; working daily with the public and members of the multi-disciplinary team. The applicant needs to be able to work in a changing environment.
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to learn new skills and develop yourself. The Trust is committed to training and offers apprenticeship for staff to undertake; as part of its values and vision.

Main duties of the job
The Unit Administration Coordinator works without direct supervision and provides a full range of clerical services to the unit to enable the efficient and appropriate use of resources and staffing:
Organises/updates clinics, and ensures all patient documentation is in place for clinic and surgical lists
Acts as first point of contact for patients and deals with enquiries
Makes appointments for patients
Do telephone pre-calls to patients for the upcoming surgical lists
Maintains and updates databases, information, audits, resources
