We have an exciting opportunity for SEND Case Officers to support the Special Educational Needs Team in fulfilling its role in carrying out our statutory duties, such as undertaking Education Health and Care Needs Assessments, monitor the delivery of children’s & young people’s EHC Plans and ensure our young people are appropriately placed and have access to suitable education. Candidate Profile We are looking for passionate and knowledgeable colleagues who are able to support families and carers of young people with SEN as well as supporting education settings from nursery to post 16/19 providers, with meeting the needs of learners with Education, Health and Care Plans. You will be required to administrate the Statutory Assessment and Review process and liaise with schools, professionals and families to support and discuss the best way forward in meeting the needs of children and young people 0-25, with SEND, so they can thrive. You will be integral to co-ordinating the statutory assessment, production, issue and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). You will need to be a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent relevant qualification at degree or similar levels and have experience of working in or with schools/education settings in a professional capacity. Experience or knowledge of working directly within the area of Special Educational Needs (e.g. in a school, LA or other education, health or care service) and being well versed in Statutory legislation is essential for this post.
