To support the brand new area, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team and lead on the commercial aspects of the contract. Reporting in to the Senior Commercial Manager, who oversees the entire housing contract, you will take ownership for the entire Aldershot region and will be responsible for ensuring the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the project. This includes controlling expenditure, reconciling cost/value reports and profit forecasts, assisting the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming, and managing sub-contract accounts and variation accounts. Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to) As the Quantity Surveyor you will take ownership for the financial and commercial elements of the contract for the project area, and provide accurate advice to the management and operational teams as required. Continuously assess, monitor and report on any commercial risks across the project Organise and co-ordinate the subcontractor invitation to tender Take responsibility for estimating and provide accurate costing to management teams Assist the Senior Commercial Manager with a variety of commercial responsibilities Organise subcontractor invitations to tender and manage the process accordingly Conduct final accounting across the works completed by the operational team and assist in obtaining correct payments from the client. You will also have direct management for a QS Admin, who you will need to conduct regular performance reviews with, offer support, training and development with and ensure that they have the knowledge to complete all work to a high standard Experience Required : Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within housing refurbishment projects is preferred. Relevant Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalent qualification Must be able to provide advice, support and guidance as the business continues to grow within MoD Housing Schedule of Rates Experience preferred but not essential Demonstrable experience in managing teams, performance, and projects effectively. Acute Commercial knowledge of tendering, budget, cost control & risk Thorough understanding of NEC 3 & 4, and JCT term contracts Excellent communication and time management skills Excellent leadership and communication skills. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and asset management systems.
